Selected as one of the pilot cities for PositiveSingles’ offline community initiative, Atlanta offered an opportunity to explore how local gatherings can strengthen connections among members. The event brought participants together in a private and welcoming environment designed to encourage open conversation, mutual understanding, and authentic interaction.

During the three-hour meetup, attendees took part in icebreaker activities, shared refreshments, and connected through conversations about everyday life, family, personal experiences, and common interests.

Feedback following the event reinforced the value of meeting in person. One attendee shared that connecting face to face made it easier to feel seen as a whole person rather than being defined by a diagnosis. Conversations naturally moved beyond health experiences to everyday topics such as family, life, and where people came from.

The attendee also described the meetup as welcoming and highly connecting and expressed enthusiasm about attending another PositiveSingles gathering in the future. The feedback reflects one of the goals behind the offline initiative: creating spaces where members can connect without lengthy explanations or fear of judgment while getting to know one another beyond their online profiles.

For PositiveSingles, the Atlanta meetup represents more than a single local gathering.
